Mother's neck - knot a pain in the neck

What is mother's neck? If you have manipulated manual breast pump or hand-expressed breast milk, or enjoyed looking down at your baby when he or she latched for feeds, you would know what I am talking about.

A strain or pain just under your back shoulders and neck, on the upper blades, that is knotty and achy.

Not many coined this term, but I found a good hit here:
"Pain occurs in the neck, mid back, shoulder blade region and shoulders while nursing primarily due to the
posture we sit in for 15-30 minutes, every 2-3 hours.  Holding the baby up with the arm, bringing the shoulder up towards the ear, and turning the head down to gaze at the baby puts strain on the neck and can start to cause postural pain, nerve pressure and muscle strains over the course of weeks or months of nursing."

A good massage would alleviate the pain and strain, or a hot strong shower beating down on the back can also do the trick. Even better is a good "happy baby" yoga pose exerting good ground pressure against your back when you rock from side to side. Can you think up anymore hacks to ease the mother's neck?

Disclaimer: This pain is "knot" a pain in the neck for most mothers, rather joyous to neck it out and see delightful babyfaces
