The week in faithful September

2016 September 7, we learned via blood test that mummy of Noah was positively pregnant. And the very same day, Noah's grandma Ah Lan was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

Streaks of both tears of joy and pain. Or is there really pain?

Life-giving pain is a term used to help mothers think amiably about childbirth labour. But death can also be giving. Life-giving death for God so loved the world He gave unto everyone of us a way of redemption to eternal life via our gentle faith (Jesus in its Hebrew origins/ eytomology means "God saves").

Grandma Ah Lan's bones and ashes will be house in church memorial gardens  SpiritualGrace.org.sg block E3-07.

E for me means eternal life, 7 for she was born 7 Septemper 1946. At exactly 70 years later, we learned about her diagnosed death into eternal life. Still, tears rolled for we are innately weak plus the scare of possible suffering/ pain related to illnesses. Striding into death however, we need not fear! Ah Lan affirmed her faith in the ambulance ferrying her to Assisi Hospice. When I asked my dying mother who was gravely weaken, as she held my hand in hers, "Do you fear death?". "No" was her unwavering reply.

So I ask, "Death, where is your sting?" and so asks the faithful hillsong based upon bible scriptures 1 Corinthians 15:51-57

51 Listen, I tell you a mystery:

We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—

52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.

For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised

imperishable, and we will be changed.

53 For the perishablemust clothe itself with the

imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

54 When the perishable has been clothed with the

imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is

written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”[h]

55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”[i]

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through

our Lord Jesus Christ.
