First tree

First tree for both Noah and me (in our own home); and first Scandinavian winter for Noah. I am wondering if we got a pine, spruce or fir tree (really hard to differentiate) this last blessed Sunday.

The day started with me waking up to "Christ is enough" song (and got discussing about the lyrics: "The cross before me, The world behind me...")

We also got talking about the Isaiah 9:6-7 text that I read up on (after reading Jennifer's facebook link about Christmas):

For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us,

And the princely power is on his shoulder,
And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God,
Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.

To the increase of the princely power, And of peace, there is no end,
On the throne of David, and on his kingdom,
To establish it, and to support it, In judgment and in righteousness,
Henceforth, even unto the age, The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts doth this.
(Young's Literal Translation)

Later we flipped to Psalms 94:11 upon Joakim's spontaneous wish: He knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. (Young's Literal Translation)

The spiritual journey continues with our church visit, and blessing in abundance showered onto us as we spend time together as a family getting the tree home. All together a good day I would say.

For the last week as we put up some Scandinavian Christmas decor, I have been reading up on the meaning and history of Advent (read that some start as early as 15 Nov) and Christmas star aka Star of Bethlehem. All these are good reminders, as we receive our great redemption with Grace (by the Grace of God). Immanuel.
